Magical Workshops & Classes for Kids
CAIN Magic Company offers children's enrichment classes and workshops at schools, libraries, camps, recreation centers and other venues. Companies and organizations may choose anything from one-time workshops to classes of two to five sessions. Private instruction also is available.
Ron Cain, a former teacher and Syracuse University graduate, brings a magical twist to the following courses:
"It's Magic" teaches children to perform magic with easy-to-learn tricks and ordinary objects like cards, coins and rope.
"Scientific Secrets of Magic" reveals the scientific principles behind the tricks of Cain's trade. Children learn tricks that rely on chemistry, physics, biology, psychology and math.
"Clowning Around" gives youngsters a chance to have fun with yo-yos, juggling, balloon animals, and clown gags and jokes.
"The World of Harry Potter sorts students into houses for wizarding classes and games inspired by J. K. Rowling’s books.
"Super Fun with Superheroes" shows students how to create superhero identities with activities based on the Superhero Code.
"The Magic of Chocolate" explores the role of chocolate in history, culture and science. While studying chocolate's journey from cacao tree to candy bar, children play games and make a treat!
"Monsterology" looks at the legends and lore of monsters like Bigfoot, Nessie, vampires, werewolves and zombies.
"Enchanted Creatures" introduces young children to the world of fairies, unicorns, leprechauns, dragons and other magic beings.
"A Gathering of Ghosts" focuses on famous ghost stories, historical hauntings and ghost-hunting tips.
"Wild, Wild West" explores cowboy life, as Cain (a Houston native) shares stories of Old West legends like Wild Bill Hickok and Annie Oakley.
